Chocolate & Orange Cake

Ingredients

Cake:

  • 2 cups (287 gms) all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup (52 gms) cocoa powder
  • 1 cup (33 gms) date syrup
  • 2 tsp baking powder
  • 1 1/2 tsp bicarbonate of soda
  • 1/2 tsp cinnamon powder
  • 1/4 tsp cloves powder
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 2 Eggs
  • 1 cup(87 gms) black coffee (2 tsp instant coffee in a cup of hot water, make sure it’s cool before adding to the batter)
  • 1/2 cup (61 gms) vegetable oil
  • 1/2 cup (120 gms) Milk

Cream cheese frosting

180g cream cheese (I use Philadelphia)

2 tbsp soft butter

1 cup icing sugar

2 tbsp orange rind

Add all the ingredients into a bowl and mix well.

Chocolate icing

250 gms Chocolate

230 gms Cream ( I used nestle canned cream)

Add chocolate to a bowl and melt. let it cool slightly then add the cream and mix well. Ice your cake
