How to make Donas | Swahili cake donuts

April 19, 2017

Sometimes, well a lot of times in my case, you just want to make something quick to have with tea but you still want it to be enjoyable. These cake donuts hold up well and are great as a grab and go snack.

Unlike their cousin, the yeast donut, these guys have baking powder instead. The difference? They’re still soft but a bit crumbly which is a nice change from the usual doughnut.

Their texture makes them perfect for clotted cream and jam like their other cousins the English scones.

Voila! Your tea snack for today.

Comment, share, I’d love to hear from you. Which part of the world are you eating this from?
