Listen, if you’ve ever tried negotiating with a toddler over food you know it’s like arguing with a tiny unreasonable lawyer who has nothing to lose. My kids have rejected perfectly good meals with the most absurd reasons:
- It’s too round.
- It touched another food.
- I’m not in the mood for chewing, (I mean, what?)
But then thanks to my sister Debbie, I discovered Mchuzi Wa Karanga—a creamy, nutty, coconut infused peanut sauce that turns ANYTHING into “the best meal ever” (their words, not mine). I could probably drizzle it over cardboard, and they’d eat it. It’s that good.

Mchuzi Wa Karanga – Peanut sauce
Ingredients
- ½ cup peanut butter
- 1 cup coconut milk
- 1 garlic clove minced (because garlic makes everything better)
- ½ tsp turmeric adds warmth, color, and the illusion that I know what I’m doing
- ½ tsp paprika
- ½ tsp salt because bland food is a crime
- 1 tsp lemon juice
- 1 tsp honey optional, but bribing with a little sweetness works wonders
Notes
Mchuzi Wa Karanga is the ultimate “kid-proof, parent-approved” sauce. It has single handedly saved dinner time in my house. If you’ve got a picky eater, try this trick and let me know how it goes!
(Or just make a batch for yourself and eat it straight from the spoon. No judgment.)
